Driven by her deep desire to help people in need, Dr. Julia Berkei has been volunteering for children in the developing world since 2002. MIT-e.V. was founded in 2009 on her initiative. Together with the medical team, she has transformed the lives of hundreds of children with cleft lips and palates in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Recently, Dr. Julia Berkei was appointed to the board of trustees of the renowned YOU Foundation: Education for Children in Need, a project in official relations with UNESCO. Here, Dr. Berkei, who had to withdraw from Myanmar after the outbreak of the civil war, seeks to identify and personally support projects that are of great importance to her.
